During a recent dormitory fit-out project in China, our team conducted a pre-installation spot check on a batch of ceiling fans prior to distribution across residential units.
What we checked:
- CCC (China Compulsory Certification) label presence and validity on each unit
- QC inspection seal (合格证) including inspector ID and production date
- Model number consistency against the approved procurement list
- Physical condition of units before installation
Why it matters:
Shipment-level inspection is standard practice, but unit-level verification is often skipped on large residential projects. With 60+ identical units going into a building, a single non-compliant batch — if missed — can create significant issues during occupancy inspection or insurance claims.
In this case, all units passed. But the process of checking is what protects the project.
Takeaway:
Compliance verification doesn't end when goods arrive on site. Pre-installation checks are a simple, low-cost step that closes the gap between "delivered" and "compliant."
